Redsail Cutter Plotter 'missing cuts' issue.

Last year, I bought a RedSail cutter plotter with model# RS720C. So after buying the machine, the tech guy taught me how to operate it even though I already have a background in operating other brands of cutter plotter. Since this RedSail is new to me, I participated to him. In 30 minutes, we're done.

The software he gave me is a pirated Flexisign for $10. Yeah?! I checked in torrent sites and the software is very available. I downloaded the software and tried to install in my other laptop but i couldn't make it. It's very critical to install. So for or me, the $10 is worth it, LOL.

For a year I run my business with this cutter plotter and my laptop (the tech guy installed the FlexiSign on my laptop), and I encountered the missing cuts issue but I ignored the problem.

When I autotrace the design and cut it, sometimes it misses to cut some areas. Like for example, I cut a world APPLE, the 'A' is mssing. My solution is to manually type the the 'A' again with the same font and size that I used in my design.

Lately I have to cut 600 pcs of PE logo of a school. It misses some text, so what I did was i made a little modification of the design, and it works. The logo is just 6x6 inches, so i thought that I can accommodate the 3 logos per cut session since the width of my vinyl is 20 inches. And again is started to miss some areas when the cutter plotter started to cut the second and third logo. So I have to cut one logo only per cut session. It's really exhausting and I've wasted a lot of vinyls.

Last month, the laptop that I used got busted. I decided to buy desktop computer and called the tech guy informing him that I will bring my new pc to him to install the flexisign. After he finished installing the software, I was able to share to him my problem about the machine that  it misses some cuts and he was like "Oh?! I haven't told you about that?!", then he checked the back of my computer and he told me that my NEW COMPUTER does't have RS232 port. So I said 'what is that?' Then he explained to me that I need to use the other cable which is the RS232 or 9 pins cable/port to eliminate the missing cut problem. Before I only used the USB cable because obviously laptop doesn't have RS232 port. He said sorry because he forgot to tell me last year.

Now, my computer doesn't have RS232 port. I went back to the store and ask for the parts and since it was under warranty, the store gave me the RS232 port for $3.50 only.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

So this is the solution of the missing cuts issue of the Redsail Cutter Plotter. It works on other model of redsail brand.
